Who did Celia Wade-Brown seek out to make her Council more collaborative?
I really admire Celia Wade-Brown (Mayor of Wellington), she is deeply principled and intuitive yet highly practical.
Anyone who would ride her bicycle to meet Hillary Clinton, the most powerful woman in the world, is remarkable. It was a powerful symbol in a city known for its compactness, accessibility and environmental concerns.
So I was honoured when she asked me to work with her Councilors and senior management team to help her achieve one of her two major election promises: to create a collaborative Council that the community has confidence in and engages with.
