What is collaboration?
When I talk about collaboration I'm talking about something deeper than most people would think about. Collaboration is much more than meeting and networking. It is the active circling around common problems, identifying common issues and applying resources that individual collaborators bring to the table from their respective areas of experience and discipline. It is the problem identification, an exhaustive effort at alternative solutions from a variety of perspectives, and a working toward solutions that individuals could not have imagined on their own. It's about working together with trust to create a new reality. It's about having the courage to be vulnerable, to speak openly and honestly and to listen with both our heads and our hearts. In my experience this is rare in business.
