Conclusion

The Corporate Services workshop concluded with everybody sitting back in the big circle. Each person was asked to comment on two things: firstly their views about the workshop and what had been achieved during the two days, and secondly, about their genius factor. Everybody spoke. Managers told me afterwards that people who had never before spoken in front of a group, let alone a group of over 70 people, spoke out with confidence and sincerity.

When they talked about the workshop, many people spoke about how neat it was to think about themselves as a leader, and to think about their peers as leaders also. They clearly enjoyed the activities, the openness and the fun in the workshop. They didn’t like a small section (‘Don’t lecture us!’) when I provided some theoretical content.

Everybody spoke about their genius factor. You could see from the way that the rest of the group listened that there was no longer any doubt in the group’s mind that each person was in some way genius or at least working towards understanding what their genius factor was. This was a total swing from when we first opened the subject about genius.

When people left to go home they were 10 feet taller than when they arrived. But don’t believe me, read what the manager in charge said, see the quote at the top of this page.
