Advised and managed the strategic change process for Avery Ford (Wellington's largest car dealer). This included advising on strategic information needs. This was a 4 man months project which involved working with management clarifying the strategic direction of the organisation. He facilitated a three-day strategic workshop for senior managers' offsite. One of the key strategies was to undertake a major change programme.
The project involved assisting training team leaders in the principles and methods of strategy and strategic information and in how to facilitate since most were 'tell oriented'. The team leaders were the managers of each business unit (used car sales, new car sales etc). This resulted in training for every staff member in process methods and tools required, including setting up measurement and performance standards and follow up and feedback. They were also involved in in-depth bench marking.
